Holy Batmania!
Let’s pour one out for Adam West tonight, for obvious sad reasons:
Here’s Holy Batmania, a direct-to-video Batman documentary from 1989.
My impression is that the doc was hastily thrown together to capitalize on the success of Tim Burton’s Batman, though it focuses more on the Batman stuff that came before that film — most specifically Adam West’s legendary turn as the Caped Crusader from the 1960s TV series.
I grew up on a steady diet of that show, but one network (Fox, I think) gave it a majorly renewed push when Burton’s film came out. West was as much “my Batman” as any other actor has been, and if I manage to hang around for as long as he did, that’ll still be true.
