Child’s Play VHS Promo!
Tonight’s video was suggested by Jason H., and I have no idea how this one slipped by me:
It’s a promotional segment that was added onto VHS screener copies of Child’s Play back in 1989. Doesn’t sound like much, but don’t judge it until you’ve seen it.
I’ll let Jason describe the action: “Here’s a weird throwback to a time when VHS ruled the world, and studios had to pull out all of the stops in order to convince video stores to plunk down cash for rental copies. Here, Chucky gets roped into pitching customers on the smart business logic of paying $90 to buy copies of his movie.”
So amazing. If you were ever into the Child’s Play movies *at all*, it’s a must-watch.
New article coming to the Halloween Countdown tomorrow. It’s short, but I think it’ll resonate. I’m also hoping to have a video up on Tuesday, but we’ll see how that works out!
PS: If you’d like to submit videos to run on Dino Drac After Dark this Halloween season, there’s still time! Get all the details here!
