APARTMENT 3A
Rented by: Sensei John Kreese
Co-signer: Terry Silver
His name is John Kreese. That’s Sensei John Kreese to you. Show some respect. He’s a Vietnam War veteran and the proud owner and operator (as well as the founder) of The Cobra Kai Dojo and Day Care Center. He prefers to oversee the karate end of the business while he leaves his student, Dutch to deal with those little fuckers in day care.
He’s dedicated to his karate business and it’s truly a work of love for him, but he hates people that watch UFC and think they can train in his dojo and become a big star. “UFC is for pussies. It’s badly scripted and poorly choreographed”. A huge fan of ’80s professional wrestling, Sensei John Kreese has an extensive collection of WWF videotapes, citing Andre the Giant’s turn on his best friend, Hulk Hogan as one of the saddest days in his life as a wrestling fan.
Although he thinks all of his fellow neighbors are, in his own words, “A bunch of fucking weirdos”, Sensei John Kreese gets along well with his fellow tenants and is generally well regarded. Their only real complaint is that he constantly blasts “Eye of the Tiger” and what he believes is his personal theme song, “Real American”. He’s always bragging to everyone about how it was written about himself. And every morning as he gets ready for work, he can be heard singing “Danke Schoen”.
He doesn’t let his neighbors know, because he doesn’t want them to get jealous, but he actually has one of the few apartments that has an olympic size swimming pool for relaxation. In exchange for a cheaper rate and for allowing him to post Cobra Kai flyers in the lobby, Dino Drac was made an honorary member of the Cobra Kai.
Almost always focused on regaining his monopoly on the All Valley Karate Championship Tournament, he’s temporarily put that goal on hold. After recently catching the documentary, “The King of Kong” on ESPN Classic, he’s installed his own vintage Donkey Kong machine into his apartment. Applying the motto of the Cobra Kai of “Strike First! Strike Hard! No Mercy!” to his dream, Sensei John Kreese aims to become the Donkey Kong World Champion.
