After Dark’s Halloween Season Begins Now!
Greetings, After Darkers! The season is now!
Dinosaur Dracula’s 2018 Halloween Countdown HAS BEGUN, and its arrival marks the start Dino Drac After Dark’s own little Countdown. Spooky videos will be posted every night between now and October 31st!
If you’re new to Dino Drac After Dark, think of it as a halfway-hidden clubhouse, where a bunch of cool peeps come to watch weird videos while shooting the shit about things that only sometimes have to do with those videos.
It’s basically an escape from the internet that just happens to still be a part of it, if that makes sense.
I don’t often advertise After Dark, so it’s on you to remember to visit this place. (To that end, a banner appears on the main page at midnight, encouraging you to pull up a chair.) Updates are always made by 12AM EST, but sometimes come in a few hours before then.
You can talk about the featured video or just chat about whatever you want. We’re all Halloween nuts around these parts, so never be afraid to gush about your favorite new candy or horror movie trailer.
To cover After Dark through the Halloween season, I asked y’all to send in video suggestions. You really came through! Let’s kick off the Countdown with TWO videos:
First is the pilot episode of Gravedale High, from 1990. Thanks for the suggestion, Teddy Ray!
Plot synopsis, from Wikipedia: “The show revolves around the misadventures of human teacher Max Schneider, who has unwittingly taken a job at Gravedale High, a school for monsters. Schneider, the only human in the school, presides over a group of ghoulish teenagers that are the latest-generation versions of classic movie monsters.”
Bonus points: Max Schneider was voiced by Rick Moranis!
…and then for something way different:
Suggested by Ginyu Recoome, get a load of Ants, a 1977 made-for-TV movie about… ants! KILLER ants!
Plot synopsis, from IMDB: “An old-fashioned lakeside hotel targeted for purchase by an unsavory casino promoter is attacked by an army of poisonous ants.”
A movie about murderous ants, starring Suzanne Somers of all people? Count me in! The film was originally known as It Happened at Lakewood Manor, but since that title offers no hints of an ant attack, I prefer the other one.
Enjoy, guys. We’re just getting started! Check After Dark every night, all season long!
