The Halloween Island Survey!

Let’s do a survey tonight!

In the comments, answer these questions:

I’m trapping you on a tiny Halloween island.

You’re allowed to bring one Halloween/horror movie, TV special or cartoon. You will only get to watch that ONE THING for the rest of your days.

You’re also allowed to bring one Halloween candy. An endless supply of it, but you will only get to eat that ONE THING for the rest of your days.

What movie/special and which candy do you bring to this terrible Halloween island?

(Think hard. This isn’t necessarily about picking your very favorite movie or candy. It’s about picking the ones that you’d be okay with watching/eating for decades!)

Halloween, WWF Style.

If you missed the sad news, wrestling legend Bobby “The Brain” Heenan passed away this week. If you are (or were) a wrestling fan, you know that Heenan was a one-of-a-kind treasure, with a gift of gab that few could ever hope to match.

Two peeps suggested this Halloween-themed Heenan video, so I’m just gonna give them co-credit: Thanks to LBD “Nytetrayn” and Tank for tonight’s pick!

It’s a special Halloween episode of WWF Prime Time Wrestling, from 1989. So over the top, so cheesy, so wonderful.

Rest in peace, Brain.

Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction?

Since it came up in today’s article, I figured we’d run this tonight:

Remember this? Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction?

Hosted by Jonathan Frakes, this FOX TV special from 1995 included footage of a purportedly legitimate alien autopsy. It wasn’t legitimate, of course, but I still love this wacky special.

Monster Mash: The Movie!

Here’s a cheesy-but-charming pick from Teddy Ray:

In Wikipedia’s words, Monster Mash is a “horror-themed musical” from 1995, based in large part on Bobby Pickett’s famous song. Pickett also stars in the movie, along with a real bag of mixed nuts, including Candace Cameron, John Kassir and Jimmy Walker, to name a few.

I’ve owned this on VHS for years, but never got around to watching it. I thought it was some made-for-TV deal, but it seems like this actually had a theatrical release.

(Seriously though, doesn’t it scream “Sunday night movie” in the best way? Pretend you’re 10, stuck with network television, and avoiding homework.)
