Horror Movie Themes!

Here’s a well-curated playlist of assorted horror movie themes, covering everything from Suspiria to Friday the 13th Part VI:

Background noise for your nighttime routines!

In other news:

1) My order of New Coke arrived today. Dig that Stranger Things box. I’m happy we got in on the ground floor with that event in Manhattan, because covering it now would mean a whole lot less than it did a few weeks ago. Now I can just enjoy my various bottles of weird Coke without worrying about taking a million photographs first.

2) Was Dark Phoenix as bad as many are saying? That’s an actual question. We had tickets but canceled because the timing just didn’t work out. I still kinda wanna see it, and to be fair, plenty have said that it’s nowhere near as bad as it’s made out to be. As a matter of full disclosure, I’ll admit that I read the whole plot summary on Wikipedia last night, and it did sound *a lot* like The Last Stand.

3) We’re recording the next podcast later this week — won’t spoil the topic, though we did hint at it recently. June Funpack will debut in a few days, and it’s a doozy. (Actually, the next several should be doozies — stay tuned!) Have a couple of articles I’m working on, too.

Open Water!

In today’s main site article, I’m teaching you how to make Halloween Chex Mix. Go on, do it. Make Halloween Chex Mix in June. Think of it this way: It’s an excuse to hit 3 stores and buy weird things like onion salt. An activity in of itself.

Helps that the stuff is delicious, and that it pairs so well with horror movies. Even summery ones!

Tonight’s film is Open Water, from, what, 2003? God, has it really been that long? This movie had pretty massive buzz prior to its release, but if I’m being honest, I don’t remember being crazy about it. While it may not have been everything it could’ve been, it’s still a story about people surrounded by sharks. Let’s do this.

The Rage: Carrie 2!

It’s been forever since I’ve seen this movie, but I have such a soft spot for it. Here’s The Rage: Carrie 2, another flick that’s “officially” free on YouTube for some weird reason:

The Rage used to be on cable constantly, so while I’ve never outright identified myself as a big fan, I’ve probably seen the thing two dozen times. It’s so ’90s!

The Terminator!

YouTube randomly has The Terminator available, free of charge, so hey, why not?

I say “randomly,” but now that I think about it, it’s gotta be there as subtle promotion for the new movie. Most of you have seen The Terminator a bunch of times already, but whatever, it’s always good, and at this point, it’s especially good as background noise. Enjoy!
