Thanksgiving 1989 Commercials!
Happy Friday! Here’s a batch of TV commercials that aired on Thanksgiving back in 1989:
On a quick scan, I saw enough to confidently say that this is worth leaving on in the background.
I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is in less than a week. I hate how fast time seems to move during this season! On the bright side, TG is hitting pretty early this year, so there will still be a fair amount of November left when it’s done.
Look for new articles and a new podcast next week, and then the site will make its full transition to sleigh bells and candy canes. (Maybe I’ll even get the ol’ Christmas Jukebox working again.)

Name a gift you received that seemed boring and lousy when you opened it, but ended up becoming a major fave.
Mine would have to be this old Donkey Kong 3 handheld game. It was objectively neither boring nor lousy, but it was a terrible replacement for what I was really after that year: The then-new Nintendo Game Boy.
I considered it my sworn duty to avoid playing it out of petty spite, but once I cracked, I immediately fell in love. I couldn’t get over how that teensy little electronic game had its own controllers. Christmas was saved.
