Here’s the teaser for this year’s Halloween Countdown, which will begin on August 25th. (Well, as per tradition, it’ll really start on Friday the 24th, but late in the evening.)
This’ll be my SIXTEENTH YEAR doing the Countdown, by the way.
I haven’t put this video on the main site yet, as I still have some unfinished business with Cruel Summer. I’d originally planned Cruel Summer as a monthlong nonstop marathon, but it kinda transformed into a two month stop-and-start marathon. Oh well. I’d at least like to get another video and a few more articles in the can before I move into full-blown Halloween prep mode.
Speaking of which: Halloween prep is what I’m doing tonight! Currently fishing up article material for the Countdown, and given how much material I need, I’m certainly not starting early!

I’m super familiar with the Count Duckula theme song, but now that I think about it, I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a single episode of the cartoon. Weird!

Sleepaway Camp!
You probably don’t have time for a movie this late on a Monday night, and that’s a shame, because I got a good one for ya:
Sleepaway Camp, from 1983! Usual content warnings apply — this is a total R-rated slasher film in all directions. Certain aspects of the movie arguably haven’t aged well through today’s lens, but it’s way interesting regardless. (PS: The sequel, Sleepaway Camp II, is one of my all-time favorite horror flicks.)
