Dino Drac After Dark

Here Comes Garfield!

I like to connect the main page to After Dark whenever possible, so since I just covered an old Garfield book found at the flea market, I thought I’d give the fat cat another at-bat:

Here Comes Garfield was our pal’s first-ever animated special, from way back in ’82. It feels like the first one, too. The characters have rougher designs, and it’s soooo weird to hear Jon with a different voice. Still a fun watch!

Commercials from 1992!

Here’s a big batch of TV commercials that aired on FOX back in ’92:

Looks like there’s around a hundred different ads in the mix, running the gamut from 90210 show promos to the fabulous Almond Joy song. Enjoy!

Free-For-All Saturday Thread!

Happy Saturday!

This is a Free-For-All Thread, so talk about whatever you want!

…but can I also mention how much I’ve loved Dino Drac After Dark this summer? I admit that I haven’t been as active on the main site during Cruel Summer as I’d planned to be, but this place sure has been hopping. Thanks, all!

(And as for the main site — lots of new stuff coming! Looks like I’ll run through July with Cruel Summer before taking a little time away to prepare for the you-know-what. I still have a few big things I wanted to cover for this event, though, so stay tuned!)

Here’s a little background music for the night…

I know I’ve run it before, but whatever, it’s pretty much my favorite thing ever. Enjoy Freddy’s Greatest Hits, the Elm Street novelty album that is SO MUCH BETTER than anyone could’ve reasonably expected. I still listen to this constantly, by the way.

Vampires on Bikini Beach!

If you only check out Dino Drac After Dark every so often, you picked a good night!

Tonight’s video was generously uploaded and suggested by Ginyu Recoome, and it’s a doozy.

It’s the 1993 USA Up All Night broadcast of Vampires on Bikini Beach, WITH commercials, hosted by Gilbert Gottfried!

This could not be more perfect for Dino Drac’s Cruel Summer — on a stormy Friday night, no less!
