Dino Drac After Dark

1994 Super Bowl Commercials!

Surely some of you will be watching this year’s Super Bowl only for the commercials. Before you do, check out this batch from 1994!

Looks like this would’ve been Super Bowl XXVII, which is hella fun to type. A quick scan reveals everything from discontinued Doritos to Rodney Dangerfield, so surely there will be something in here for you to latch onto. Enjoy!

Tales from the Darkside: Halloween Candy!

Here’s Halloween Candy, a classic episode of Tales from the Darkside. (…which I’ll remind you represents the spirit of Dino Drac After Dark better than any other show!)

I’ll just crib the description from Google: “After years of boycotting Halloween, an elderly man is tormented by a persistent little trick-or-treater who’s out to teach him a lesson.”

And yeah, I could save this for next October, but the chances of it still being on YouTube by then are slim to none.

In other news, I just set Dino Drac After Dark up with about a week’s worth of posts. So like, don’t be afraid to keep checking here after midnight. For the next several days at least, you’ll actually see updates! (Trying to get back on track!)

Mickey’s 60th Birthday!

You guys need to watch this one, no matter how you feel about Mickey Mouse:

Mickey’s 60th Birthday aired on NBC back in ’88, and it is incredible. NBC enlisted the casts of many of their hit shows to appear, so you get Disneyfied bits from the sets of Cheers, Family Ties and more. The whole thing is hosted by John Ritter, just for extra bonus points.

Strongly recommended. It’ll put your head in a happy place.

Woolworth’s in 1991!

Just for the record, I haven’t given up on Dino Drac After Dark, and won’t! I’m very much looking forward to updating this place on the reg again. The rest of January is looking pretty annoying, so don’t be too discouraged if I miss days here and there. By February, we should be back at full speed!

Tonight’s video was sent in by Ryan S., and it’s a doozy. Someone shot footage inside a Woolworth’s discount store back in 1991, and they lingered in the toy section jussst long enough for solid looks at everything from Real Ghostbusters to Ninja Turtles. Love it!
