Mortal Kombat II!

Here’s a complete playthrough of Mortal Kombat II. (Just pretend it’s a movie, because I sure did.)

There are YouTube playthroughs utilizing every character; I picked Mileena because she’s way cool and has the best ending.

I’ve run a video of the first Mortal Kombat game on here before, but I’ve always found the 1993 sequel to be so much more interesting, what with its increased “gothic” flair.

This isn’t a perfect analogy, but if the first game felt like an action movie with heavy doses of Hong Kong cinema and sci-fi, Mortal Kombat II had a vibe closer to an October horror movie.

Since that playthrough with Mileena is all-business, here’s another video that simply collects every FATALITY in the game. (Which is all you’re really interested in, anyway.)

I have great memories of playing the SNES version on our old downstairs television. Late at night, the music and visuals were spooky enough to put me on guard. The game itself never scared me, but it created the right ambiance for virtually everything else to do just that.

Lord knows if that flavor will come through on a YouTube playthrough, but that’s why I’m serving this up. Enjoy!
