Monster Mash: The Movie!

Here’s a cheesy-but-charming pick from Teddy Ray:

In Wikipedia’s words, Monster Mash is a “horror-themed musical” from 1995, based in large part on Bobby Pickett’s famous song. Pickett also stars in the movie, along with a real bag of mixed nuts, including Candace Cameron, John Kassir and Jimmy Walker, to name a few.

I’ve owned this on VHS for years, but never got around to watching it. I thought it was some made-for-TV deal, but it seems like this actually had a theatrical release.

(Seriously though, doesn’t it scream “Sunday night movie” in the best way? Pretend you’re 10, stuck with network television, and avoiding homework.)
