Dinosaur Dracula!

Vlog: Boglins Hand Puppets.

One thing I dig about Dino Drac is the chance to get even more mileage out of things I’ve already covered a hundred times. Yay for Boglins!

If you don’t remember them, Boglins were monstrous, rubber hand puppets that came out in the late ’80s, ready to rock our worlds with twirling arms and gaping mouths. While a much bigger deal overseas, they still had their day in the sun here, and even if it only lasted a few short months, the “Boglins Era” was among my favorite moments of kid life.

They came in many shapes and sizes, but “Bog-O-Bones” and “Blobkin” — a pair of special edition Halloween Boglins — were clearly the fan favorites. Or, you know, my favorites.

I liked Boglins enough to film a ten minute video about them.

Heh, “film.” I sound so pro.

I can’t remember who, but someone actually requested this as a vlog topic. Blame them.

Oh, and here’s the YouTube backup version. I’m being so stubborn on the Vimeo thing.

New Feature, & SNT.

There’s a new feature up. I’m currently ninja editing, so if you act fast, you’ll get to catch so many typos and flat punchlines. It’s about one of my favorite things ever, sincerely. I’m shocked that it’s taken so long for me to do that thing I do with the things I take pictures of.

Behold, the Toys “R” Us “R” Treat Box, from 1992!

Also, this doubles as the Saturday Night Thread. I can prove it:

It’s either the Saturday Night Thread, or the Schmidt-Newtonian Telescope.

Wallet-Sized George Photos.

Got some mail today! <3

Mail from Snapfish. If you’ve been paying any attention to Dino Drac, you know what this is. And I couldn’t be more excited.

Four bucks and four days later, I have wallet-sized photos of George the Gremlin. Read More…

New Feature: Casino Games, for the SMS.

Mentioning it here for the RSS-only crowd, but also because I don’t know how many people keep an eye on that enormous features banner on the main page. There’s a new one up, about Casino Games, an old title for the Sega Master System. Read it!

But I still don’t want these tiny blog updates ushering you to bigger non-blog updates to go to waste, so let’s get some use out of this one.

First, here’s a photo of a Centurions eraser, a Transformers head and a packet of Sea-Monkey food.

I wasn’t sure where else to put it.

Next, let’s make this a survey.

In the comments, it’s time for you to confess.

Name a movie or a TV episode that seriously made you cry.

Not just “sad.” I mean real tears. The more embarrassing the better.

I’ll get the ball rolling. It was the second made-for-television Ewok movie, Ewoks: The Battle for Endor.

I’m dead serious. Ugh. That part when Cindel left Endor with Wilford Brimley, and she waves that sad goodbye to Wicket. I’m talking crazy tears. Physical, uncontrollable sobbing. I was like twenty years old, too. I’d already seen that stupid Ewok movie a hundred times without issue, but on that one weird occasion, Cindel and Wicket did me in.

Your turn. Top that shit.
