Dino Drac’s December Funpack is here!

Dino Drac’s December Funpack is here! Actually, most of them have already been shipped, and some have already arrived! (With the holiday insanity at the USPS, I wanted to get these out as early as possible!)

Subscriptions are maxed out, and I only have a couple of spares to offer this month. If you’re not a subscriber and you still want this box, jump to the bottom for ordering info. (It’s $25, shipped.) But this one’s mostly to show subscribers what they will be getting!

As always, I try to infuse the December Funpacks with a healthy dose of yuletide cheer. Keep reading to learn about everything in this month’s box!

Leading the charge this month is another classic Gremlins Book & Record set, from 1984! These were originally part of a Hardee’s promotion, before being sold at retail. I’ve given other sets from this series out in prior Funpacks, but this is the last one I have in stock… probably ever!

I saved this set — Escape from the Gremlins — for December because… well, there’s a Gremlin wearing a Santa cap on the cover! Each contains a vinyl record and a read-along storybook with awesome artwork. These are still in their original shrinkwrap and have never been used!

CONDITION NOTE: Please keep in mind that these sets are literally 40 years old! Some of the books have curled edges, and there is a good chance that some of the records have slightly warped from their many years in storage. To be safe, consider this for collectible purposes only!

Next up, you’re finally going to achieve your dream of becoming a McDonaldland citizen. You’ll each receive a genuine McDonaldland Honorary Citizen Certificate, which was given away at McD’s way back in the 1970s.

Printed on something that’s not quite parchment but kind of feels like it, each certificate is “signed” by both Ronald McDonald and Mayor McCheese. (And because they’re so trusting, they left a blank space for you to fill in your name,)

These rare certificates are pretty gorgeous, and since I don’t want them to get damaged in transit, I’ll be bagging each one before putting it in the box. Once you get the keys to the kingdom, say hi to Birdie for me.

Next up is a pair of vintage Snorks patches, made in the mid ‘80s! Like some of the previous patches I’ve included, these are the “adhesive” kind, so if you’d prefer to think of them as oversized fuzzy stickers, that works for me!

As I understand it, these were originally given out as vending machine prizes in the 1980s. And while you only got one at a time back then, I’m giving you both of the main Snorks characters, Allstar and Daffney, in one shot!

There are only a few months each year when I can get away with mailing chocolate, so I’m taking advantage! You’ll each receive a full-sized Mr. Goodbar, from Hershey’s!

They hold a lot of holiday nostalgia for me, since the tiny-sized versions of these bars have long been popular Christmas candies. To be honest, I wasn’t even aware that the full-sizers were still being made, and I’m sure plenty of you would say the same!

This being a chocolate bar, there’s a chance it will suffer a break in shipment, but I thought it was worth the risk to get you a real old-fashioned treat for the holidays. Each will be sent in a little bubble bag, for extra protection!

And then there’s this sweet little Peanuts Play Pack! Each contains a few crayons, some stickers, and a mini coloring book, all Peanuts-themed. Both crayons and Charlie Brown have always felt like pure Christmastime to me, so this felt like a natural fit for December.

My headcanon involves you sitting near the tree, coloring Linus’s shirt with inaccurate hues while Twisted Sister’s Christmas album blasts off your iPhone. Don’t let me down.

Rounding things out, you’ll also receive this month’s 5×7” cardstock mini-poster, featuring a scan of the “Santa Raph” Ninja Turtles doll from an old holiday circular, along with this month’s 2×2” sticker, featuring Grimace in holiday garb.

Joining them is this month’s Funpack Newsletter, plus an exclusive essay that will never be reprinted on the site! (This month’s essay details the holiday decorations in my old neighborhood, and the silly “game” I made out of them as a kid.)

So yep, you’re getting all of the above for $25, shipped to anywhere in the United States!

Subscribers: You’re all set! Your box is either already on the way, or will be as of Monday morning.

Non-subscribers: If you’d like to buy this box, you can do so at the link below! (United States only, please!)

Thanks so much for supporting another year of the Funpacks, everyone! I have some CRAZY stuff ready for 2025… can’t wait to show you the goods!
