Castlevania Playthrough!
I’m pretty sure I’ve run this before, but it just screams HALLOWEEN to me. Worth running twice!
Here’s a playthrough of Castlevania, for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Such fond memories of this game, and it really is fun to just watch some stranger blow through the whole thing, and get past the levels I couldn’t even get up to.
On Our Own!
Guys, I have a confession to make. You’ll hate me for this one, but it’s true:
I prefer Bobby Brown’s On Our Own — the Ghostbusters II anthem — to Ray Parker Jr.’s song from the first movie.
SORRY!
I’m not saying it’s “better,” just that I like it more. In Mr. Parker’s defense, I like On Our Own better than most songs. I just love it to death. Here’s the official music video. Enjoy — a little or a lot!
Halloween Ads from 1990!
Here’s another choice pick from our own Rabbi Himself, though he doesn’t actually know I’m running this tonight — I just found it on his YouTube channel. Sneaky!
It’s a half hour’s worth of TV commercials from 1990, all recorded near Halloween. Not all of them are spooky, but some are!
Rabbi’s description, from YouTube: “30 full minutes of nostalgic ads that aired during Halloween week showings of Scooby-Doo and the Headless Horseman on USA. and Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf on TBS, circa 1990. Everything from Real Ghostbusters toys to retired heartburn medication to sponsored PSAs for natural gas use. Sit back, relax, and return to a time when even soap and deodorant got epic jingles!”
Almost too good for a Tuesday night! Enjoy!
Halloween Safety Video from 1977!
Here’s another one of those weird, awesome, cheesy and scary Halloween safety videos from way back when:
I don’t believe we’ve run this version from 1977 before, but even if we have, it’s worth watching twice!
