Dino Drac’s Eerie August Funpack is here, and as is tradition, it kicks off three straight months of ALL-SPOOKY Funpacks! These are always the most popular boxes I put together, and I’m very happy with what’s in store!
Please note that subscriptions are currently closed. If you want one of these beastly beauts, zip to the bottom of the page to see if I have any spares left to sell. They’re $25 each, including shipping. I have very few left, and these typically go quick, so apologies in advance to anyone who misses out. I wish I had more!
The Eerie August Funpack is all about the fine arts – music, painting, and Spooky Nerds Ropes. Keep reading to learn about everything in this month’s box!
Oh yeah — I’m at it again! Here’s another one of those freakin’ killer Gremlins book-and-record sets, which were originally sold at Hardee’s as part of a special promotion in 1984. (They were later available in regular toy stores, because these things were just too cool for a single restaurant.)
This time, you’re getting The Last Gremlin, which happens to be the last set in the series, and features Gizmo riding his Barbie Corvette on the cover. These sets are still shrink-wrapped and have never been touched!
Each includes a beautiful color storybook and a still-playable record. I know Gremlins is more of a Christmas movie than a Halloween one, but it’s still a film about murderous green monsters, so I feel very comfortable including it in this month’s Funpack. Enjoy!
As cool as the book-and-record sets are, I think you might be even more excited about this. I’ve been waiting to show you these for a long time. You’ll each receive a set of four Freaky Frozen Treats prints, all made from vintage food packaging in my collection.
These came out looking so gorgeous. Each is 7×7”, printed on cardstock (not thin paper), with an attractive matte finish. They’re so colorful, and they all complement each other so well! It’s a mash of terrifying treats from the ‘80s and ‘90s, including:
– Vampire’s Secret Ice Pops (1990s)
– Slimer Popsicles (1980s)
– Good Humor’s Ghoulie Bars (1990s)
– The Blue Ghost (1980s)
Honestly, if you’re on the list for this box, you might wanna go ahead and grab yourself a set of 7×7” frames while you wait. There’s little chance you won’t want to frame these. They look SO good! Each set will be bagged for protection before sending.
And then we have a full-sized retail version of the classic Spooky Nerds Rope, frightening, fresh and ready to eat! If you’ve never had a Nerds Rope, it’s basically a very long fruit snack “rope” studded with Nerds candy. While Nerds Ropes are sold all year, Spooky Nerds Ropes only come out to play during the Halloween season. There’s one in every Funpack!
You’ll also receive TWO PACKS of vintage Dinosaurs Attack trading cards, from Topps in 1988. These infamously gnarly cards are NOT for the faint of heart, so think twice before sharing them with those with weak stomachs!
I absolutely loved this set as a kid. How nobody has turned it into a feature-length horror flick yet, I’ll never understand. You’ll receive two random packs. I can’t guarantee two differently colored packs, but I’ll at least try to make sure you get two different wrappers.
Please note that this was back in the era when trading card packs came with a stick of gum. Sometimes that gum dissolves and makes a total mess of the first card in the pack. (Which in this case would be the sticker.) I’m doing my best to pick clean packs, but if you get one with a gum mess, my apologies – I did the best I could!
*ONE* TREAT BAG PER FUNPACK!
We’re still not done! I’ve amassed quite a collection of promotional trick-or-treat sacks from the ‘80s, ‘90s and early 2000s. This was back when it seemed like every store gave out branded bags during the Halloween season.
Well, in this month’s Funpack, you’ll each get ONE of these babies. Styles vary immensely, but they’re tied to everything from Pepsi to 7-Eleven to McGruff the Crime Dog. You’ll get one at random.
None of the bags are used, but do note that some show wear – they may be wrinkly, or they may have splotches from laying in a pile up against other bags for all of these decades. None are “dirty,” however! These will need to be gently folded to fit in the box.
Rounding things out, you’ll get this month’s standard 5×7” cardstock mini-poster (Hello, vintage McD’s bucket!), exclusive 2×2” sticker (Pepsi Dracula), along with the August 2024 Funpack Newsletter, and an exclusive essay that won’t ever be reprinted on the site!
(This month’s essay is a little different. I simply listed 50 different things that I love about the Halloween season. Some are obvious… others definitely aren’t!)
So yep, you’re somehow getting all of this for just $25 shipped, to anywhere in the United States.
If you’re already a subscriber and you wanna stay that way… do nothing! You’re all set!
If you’re not a subscriber but you still want this Funpack, you can purchase one by clicking the button below, while supplies last! (United States only, please!)
The August 2024 Funpacks are already in shipment; the remaining few will ship on Monday August 26th. (Apologies for the delay — I’ve had a cat-related crisis this month.) Thanks so much, and happy Halloween season!
Sorry, the August Funpacks are sold out! I may have a few leftover once I do my final counts, though. If you’d like to get on thw waitlist, send me an email. (dinosaurdracula on gmail). Thanks!
