Dino Drac’s May Funpack is here!

Dino Drac’s May Funpack is here, and it’s a hot one, stuffed with everything from cool toys to awesome snacks to a whole freakin’ book about Voltron. Your three primary interests, all in one box!

UNITED STATES ONLY!

Subscriptions are currently closed, but I have a fair number of spares that I can sell on an individual basis. The cost is $25, shipped anywhere in the United States. Zip to the bottom for ordering info, or keep reading to learn about everything in this month’s box!

We are starting off strong with an unread, unmarked copy of the Voltron Activity Book, from 1984! What a find! Fifty pages of puzzles, games, coloring to-dos and more. While the books have obvious collectible value, I think you should just grab a pen and go to town. You can definitely make a night out of this one item.

These super nostalgic books will fill you with memories of grade school book fairs, and they’re all in GREAT condition. Never even been flipped through. Some have old price stickers on the cover, but that’s the extent of the “wear.” I don’t think it’s exaggerating to call this one of the neatest inclusions in Funpack history!

You’ll also receive one of these Kre-O Transformers Micro Changers blind bags, featuring an Autobot or Deception that you can build in two ways! For warrior robots, these figures are awfully cute, and despite their size, they’re pretty high-quality!

All blind bags are from the collection’s third series, released in 2015. There are twelve different Transformers in the set, from Ramjet to Long Haul to Cheetor, and even one of the Sharkticons. Not a dud in the batch, but you won’t know which you’re getting until you shred the bag!

YOU’LL GET STRAWBERRY *AND* APRICOT ROLLS!

I am insanely excited about this month’s snacks. Okay, so, you obviously all know about Fruit Roll-Ups, but some of you might remember that before today’s super-processed plasticky feel became the standard, a few companies sold versions that were more like literal fruit puree, dried and flattened.

It turns out that it’s not a completely lost art. Included in every May Funpack will be a pair of Joray Fruit Rolls, large and in charge, in classic strawberry and apricot flavors. These are pretty much exactly the same as the ancient fruit rolls I remember finding in the produce section while tagging along on Mom’s supermarket trips. They are SO good!

These aren’t the small rolls you’re used to nowadays, either. They’re pretty big, and they’re absolutely going to hook you. Get set for your new obsession.

Next up is this old Trash Pack combo set, featuring a pack of UFT (Ultimate Fighting Trashies) cards, and more importantly, a mystery Trashie figure that you won’t be able to see until you’ve opened the package!

I don’t know much about the card set, but it’s full of ugly monsters and that’s good enough for me. I am a big Trash Pack fan, though, and it stuns me to realize that what I consider to be a “modern” line is now bordering close to vintage!

The card set apparently has a bunch of rare chasers in the mix, so if you end up with any holographic or metallic cards, I think that’s a good thing? But you’ll mostly be in it for that little Trashie figure. You must free him!

Oh, you thought I was out of the good stuff? Not quite! You’ll also get one of these super vintage Back to the Future Part II hoverboard pens, made by Applause back in 1989!

First, the bad news: The ink in these 35-year-old bad boys dried out long ago, so they no longer work and are for collectible use only.

The good news: They’re still awesome, and the little hoverboard toppers pop right off, if you’d prefer to use them as action figure accessories.

NOTE: Some of you may get the (much rarer) DeLorean version of these pens, but those are in such low supply, I didn’t want to include them in the photo. Consider yourself lucky if you get one!

Vintage Back to the Future memorabilia isn’t too easy to come by, so I’m thrilled to share these with you! The ink may be dry, but these are all in unused condition and are coming straight out of their old store displays.

Rounding things out, you’ll also get this month’s 5×7” cardstock mini-poster, featuring a scan of a super rare 1980s Sunkist Spooky Fruit box, which as longtime readers know is one of my favorite things in the whole universe. It pairs nicely with this month’s 2×2” sticker, starring the classic Ghostbusters popsicle.

You’ll also get this month’s Funpack Newsletter, plus an exclusive essay that will never be reprinted on the site. (This month’s essay is about my childhood fascination with the Sunday newspaper. The comics, the circulars, the movie previews… what a great time!)

So yep, you’ll get everything shown here, sent straight to your door for $25 shipped. (Again, United States only, please!)

If you’re already a subscriber and you’d like to stay that way… do nothing, you’re all set!

If you’re not a subscriber but you still want this Funpack, you can purchase one at the link below. Limited supply, and once they’re gone, they’re gone forever!

The May 2024 Funpacks will all ship out by Thursday, May 23. Thanks a ton!
