Dino Drac After Dark

Frightening Free-For-All Thread! (#8)

Hey gang, sorry about this week’s run of After Dark posts being so late! Blitzed through the Funpack shipping over the weekend, because with the USPS shipping times being so unpredictable these past few months, I really needed to send those out as quickly as I could. (And I did, whew.)

We’re recording this month’s Purple Stuff this week and that’ll be another blitz to get done as soon as possible, so between that and some other ~secret~ things, don’t be concerned if I don’t seem as present this week — I’m just working!

This is your Frightening Free-For-All Thread. Talk about whatever ya want! When you’re done here, check out this week’s Sinister Survey, Chilling Challenge and Macabre Movies of the Week.

Sinister Survey! (#8)

For this week’s Sinister Survey, I wanna to hear about your Halloween costumes!

In the comments, name three characters (or THINGS) that you’ve dressed up as for Halloween. Could be from childhood, could be from last year.

I’ll start:

1) ALF’s cousin MALPH. There’s a long story attached to that one.

2) The Joker, in 1989 or 1990. (Yes, that’s me in the pic!) I often wore Joker makeup when it wasn’t Halloween, but on at least one of those years, I went for it on October 31st, too.

3) Fruity Yummy Mummy, which was just last year at a friend’s Halloween party. Kind of a crummy version — I just covered half my head in rainbow bandages, wore red contacts and went heavy on the eyeliner. Nobody knew who I was.

Your turn! Name three of your past Halloween costumes, in the comments!

Chilling Challenge! (#8)

For this week’s Chilling Challenge, I’m going to put you on the spot…

You have to name your favorite entry from each of the following horror movie franchises:

1. Halloween
2. A Nightmare on Elm Street
3. Friday the 13th
4. Child’s Play

(If you don’t know enough about a particular franchise, okay, you can skip it.)

No ties! You’ve gotta pick one and you can only pick one! I’ll start:

1. Halloween III
2. Dream Warriors
3. Friday the 13th: Part 2
4. Child’s Play 2

If you want to go into detail about your choices, feel free.

And if you wanna answer a bonus question: Of the four you chose, which is your ultimate favorite? (As much as I love Dream Warriors, I gotta admit that Halloween III has crossed the threshold for me. That’s my #1 out of all of them.)

Your turn!

Macabre Movies of the Week! (#8)

Gonna keep this edition of Macabre Movies of the Week simple. (And crowd-pleasing!)

Below are three different compilations of old school Halloween commercials. They’re such great spirit-boosters! Each includes loads of ads from the ’80s and ’90s, running the gamut from stuff you’ll certainly remember to stuff you’ve never heard of.

Enjoy!
